In Loving Memory of Douglas Koenigsfeld.

With heavy hearts, we bid farewell to a remarkable man whose warmth and kindness touched the lives of all who knew him. Douglas Koenigsfeld, age 65, passed away on May 1, 2024. Born and raised in St. Louis MO, Doug was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He was the fifth child among ten siblings, a cherished member of a loving family of twelve. His love for his family knew no bounds, and his presence brought joy and comfort to those around him. He was the epitome of selflessness, always putting the needs of others before his own. Doug cherished his role as a husband, father, and grandfather. He found his greatest joy in seeing the smiles on the faces of those he loved the most.

Doug enlisted in the US Air Force in 1982 as a Radar System Technician and retired in 1998 in the grade of Technical Sergeant. Throughout his service, he was stationed at various locations across the United States and overseas, including Hill Air Force Base, Tinker Air Force Base, Tyndall Air Force Base, Osan Air Base (twice), and Ramstein Air Force Base. His dedication and expertise in radar and electronics continued beyond his military service, leading to opportunities in various roles. His journey eventually led him to BAE Systems, where he served as a Field Technician for nearly fourteen years, accumulating over 37 years of radar and electronic experience.

Among his many passions, Doug had a special fondness for fishing, eagerly anticipating his annual trips with family, where he found solace and joy in nature. Doug also possessed a knack for working with tools, whether tinkering in his workshop or eagerly lending a helping hand to family and friends. Sports, particularly his beloved Rams and Cardinals, held a special place in Doug's heart. He cheered on his teams with unwavering loyalty, sharing in both triumphs and defeats with equal passion. Doug will be forever remembered for his boundless love, his unwavering devotion, gentle spirit, his kind heart, and the countless ways he enriched the lives of those around him. Though he may be gone, his legacy of love and compassion will live on in the hearts of those he leaves behind.

Douglas is survived by his wife of 33 years, Sun Ae (Sunny) Koenigsfeld. He is also survived by his daughter, Sena Kwon and two grandchildren, Khalia Merrill and Raiden Lorden.
